I was considering trying crochet dad's hat from crochet world.

My question is this.

Can you use number ten thread instead of number three, or is three better?

I'm not great at using thread but would so like to try this project.

Walmart had only two colors in number three.

Is there another alternative?

Using size 10 thread would make the hat much smaller. You can order size 3 thread on line. Here is one place, there are more. Try here

Or you can use 2 strands of size 10 held together. But that is more difficult to work with as you have to be sure you catch both strands on all the stitches. But it will give you the equivilant of size 3 thread. Crochet Dads hat is lovely and well worth doing. Good luck

Thanks. They don't ship to Canada, but mayby I will find more in another walmart.

The hat does look interesting though, doesn't it! I guess I will add it to my other projects.
