From Knit to Crochet

yarnbunny

Question

Does anyone out there know how to adapt a patteren from Knit to Crochet? I've looked for books on this subject and can't seem to find any. There are two Poncho patterns in the Mary Maxim catalog that I love, but I can't knit. I don't want to order the patterns unless I can find someone who can teach me how to convert them to crochet. Any suggestions, besides learning how to knit?

THanks

A good book is From Needles to Hook, I would check your local library. That is where I got my first look at it, and recently received it for my bday. It basically comes out to 1 st per st but there are some adjustments for stitches other than knit and purl.

I have this book also and love it! It's very helpful with converting knit to crochet.

Thank you all. I just ordered the book from Barnes and Noble. I can't wait to get it! I'm also ordering the two patterns I wanted to make.

You have been a GREAT help!

Thanks,
