Brother's stocking cap

It is simple, but I just finished it. It sits rather loosely on my head *laughing*

My brother is 6'7" which means he has quite an impressively large melon on his shoulders. He has a serious problem buying hats in stores that will fit. They are either too short or get stretched so tight they don't really work anymore.... so I made him this.

I made my brother a scarf for Christmas and my mother got me a box of random yarn .... in that box was the same yarn I used to make my brother's scarf - so it was fate that he should have this hat :P

I didn't use any specific pattern. I basically crocheted hdc's in round (multiples of 12). I finished the edge with 1 round of sc's and a final round of sl's. Very very simple. The yarn I used was Caron Simply Soft in grey heather. It's a very soft and stretchy hat with a tight edge (the edge is not forgiving to the stretch LOL) so hopefully the edge will keep it folded up nice around his noggin.

I hope he likes it (I'll mail it to him this week)
