Changing colors

Recommended Posts

Changing colors is somewhat easy.

I change them by working the last stitch of one color till there are two loops on the hook, drop that color and finish the stitch with the new color.

Thats how I was taught to do it as well but Ive also seen in patterns where they tell u to finish the one color and then to slip stich on to the piece and start the next color ... i think that makes sense

when I change colors I do one stitich with both yarns, then wrap the yarn that is ending around the new yarn, one time, then work over it to weave it in. This saves weaving in all the ends later. Sometimes I use a felting needle to completely secure the end so it cannot be found.

That's the way I do it now too. Much simpler than joining the new color with a slip stitch. I have also learned to crochet over my yarn ends; much easier than weaving them in later. (Think that's what the PP is talking about.)
