blocking spray

Question

is there a spray for blocking? the question was posted in another forum and i am interested too. I read the post about soaking it in water but i don't want to do that. I just want to spray something over to make it stiff.

You can use the heavy spray starch sold in the laundry aisle. Some prefer to buy the liquid starch in the bottle and dilute it according to the directions. If you are blocking a doily, I would recommend the heavy spray starch in the can. It's less than a dollar. The liquid starch is more, but will go along way. It all depends on how stiff you need the item to be. If it is a snowflake or ornament, use the liquid starch full strength. If it is a doily, use the heavy starch as that will give it some body but not make it stiff like cardboard.
