Shannon- about your pinky- that is strange...I never heard of that before...sounds like you jammed it...can't see how holding yarn would cause that pain. But maybe it's the way you hold your pinky to hold the yarn. Do you keep it bent?

Yes, and I am also freakishly double-jointed. I'm thinking that has a lot to do with it. But I can't get comfortable any other way. And my tension changes when I try.

Try Aleve for your finger. That may help to relax the muscles and let it heal.

Shannon -try weaving your yarn over and under fingers to hold tension so you don't have to curl your fingers. It takes some practice, but works good.
