Stranded knitting

It looks so much harder than it really is. I am on my third hat and I really love it.

I found a pattern of squares that are alternated around the hat. It looks so cute. I just have to finish the top and the hat is done!

So who does stranded knitting (Or Fair Isle) as it is called also? Lets see what you've made.

Say, can you tell me HOW you managed to do this without the puckering? I know one is supposed to keep the strands loose in the back of the work, but I never seem to get them loose enough. Is there some sort of trick to this?

The only thing I did was go up a size in needles for the colorwork area. Because of the extra yarn in back, it makes it tighter on your head if you don't make that section a little bigger.

I'll try to get a picture of it on here, when DD gets up.
