Hubby pointed it out to me....needless to say, I was disgusted.

I always wonder how they can mass produce stuff like that and sell it so cheaply. I mean, it's all got to be handmade, doesn't it? Is there a crochet machine I don't know about?

I've wondered about a crochet type machine. I bought one of those because I wanted to look at it more closely, and I didn't have time to make one. To me the stitches don't look like stitches I "normally" would see on a handmade item. I know those doilies they proclaim are handmade look webbed together or something.

That's correct. There's no such thing as a crochet machine, and that's why RTW crochet items from designers like Betsy Johnson go for hundreds of dollars - all handmade.
