How to stop gaps @ the end of rows

I am trying to figure out how to preven that pesky space at the end of my hdc. I dont' remember what site or book I found it in but I really need it now...I am getting sick of those little spaces!

HDC is a funny stitch. Sometimes the turning chain is counted as a stitch (like dc), sometimes it isn't (like sc). Personally I ch-1 and don't count it.

 

If you want to count it, you could turn without chaining, sl st into the first st, ch-1 or 2 depending on the height that works for you, and continue. This way you aren't skipping the first stitch and making a gap.

 

Or, you might be able to work this techiniqe for hdc, but I think it might be tricky
