Drip catcher

I had bits of leftover heavy cotton crochet thread (knit cro-sheen? speed cro-sheen?), not enough to make anything useful of - not even a potholder. Sigh.

One day as I was folding yet enough paper towel to put in a rubbermaid container to catch the drip off the rinsed spinach (so it wouldn't be wet/rotting at the bottom of the container) I thought.... crochet something for the inside-bottom of this.

Double thread (I had a cream and a variegated green)

Make a spiral, round and round, sc or dc or hdc, however you like.

Keep going until it fits your container.

Decrease the size of your stitches until you can end neatly with a slip stitch.

Weave in the ends

You can wash it in the sink and hang it out to dry with the dishrag or dish towel or rubber gloves.

And it's all ready for the next batch of spinach.
