The sock monkey baby blanket in the SnB book? I got the yarn today...but I'm worried about making it because I just don't know how to connect squares together well. Is the blanket fairly easy to make? I hope I bought enough yarn! I am very worried about this.

I can't really answer your question but I understand where you are coming from! I bought the book specifically for that pattern and have yet to make it. I tell myself I am practicing and working my way to it...lol.

My 80-ish aunt borrows my S&B book all the time! She's gone crazy with that pattern. As in-making all kinds of stuff with the sock monkey pattern. I'm gonna have to get her her own copy! She loves it.

I am working on that pattern right now. Joining the squares is fairly easy once you get the idea of it, and it is now my favorite way to join! I'm making it with pink and a pink/white variegated, in Bernat Softee Chunkee, with a white to join. I'm thinking (I did start it a while ago, and am just now finishing it) that I used 1-1/2 balls each of the pink and pink/white, and 3 of the white. I haven't finished the sock monkey's yet but there is plenty left of the pink/white, to finish it.
