Help with LB Pattern

has anyone ever tried this hat pattern? I worked it up with black chenille t & Q and I followed the pattern to a tee - and it didn't turn out the same - its super small and really no brim. Anyone else tried this pattern and have any suggestions - any help would be so appreciated :ideanot before I start to frog! thanks!

Which hook size did you use? Would it fit a child?

Hi Chelle - I used a P hook (plastic) here's how it turned out....

 

here's another view - its just way too small and I can add more rows - but i'm worried about how to fix the brim - I love the look of it on the pattern....

Hmmm, what if you started out with more dc to begin with (eeek, frogging I know!), that should make it larger on the head. Like 12 dc instead of 9? Then follow pattern on down. ??

 

If someone else has other advice so she doesnt have to frog, please help out! That's the only thing I can think of at the moment.
