Dye lots *shakes fist*

Recommended Posts

So I'm almost done with my first diagonal 'ghan and come to realize nearing the very end, that about 30 rows back while using the Caron Blue Mint (I believe that's the color, in the Brights line) that when I switched out skeins, there's a slight difference! :bang Not one you can really see unless you know to look but I'm still annoyed by it.:oops

Not annoyed enough to frog the project, but annoyed that I'll still know this when I give the ghan away for a gift next spring.:grumpy

Even when it states it's the same dye lot, don't ever switch to a new skein in the middle of a row. If there is even the tiniest difference in color, it WILL show.

I know it's tough, because we don't want to waste our yarn, but you are better off stopping at the end of a row with a skein you know won't last another entire row, and switching to a new skein.

Keep all the skein ends "just in case". If you haven't used them before you are finished, you'll have them for doing stripe projects or squares.
