Broomstick Lace

Recommended Posts

I've been looking for tops to crochet for myself and I came across two patterns I would like to try: http://www.stitchdiva.com/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=SDS-044 and

http://garnstudio.com/lang/en/visoppskrift.php?d_nr=99&d_id=18〈=us

I really like the first one but I've never done broomstick lace before. Is there a good pattern for a first project that I could make with broomstick lace?

The second one I am planning to figure out this week while on vacation, but I've already found errors in the pattern.

those are pretty

I like the green one also Annies Attic has that pattern on their website.. I just hate to pay so much for one pattern when I have so many crochet books and magazines.. I learned to do broom stick lace about 34 years ago it is easy and if you want to learn and don't have one of the big knit needles just get out that broom and try it on that ... I taught my aunt to do broom stick on a broom one year it was fun to sit out on the patio and play with the broom and yarn.. there are websites on learning crochet stitches... I got around to learning hair pin lace last year and broom stick lace is a lot easier..

enjoy

I tried doing broomstick lace for the first time a couple of weeks ago. I just made myself up a swatch about 35 stitches wide, and then practiced making broomstick lace with rows of 7 groups of 5 loops. It took me a bit to get the hang of it, but I saw a noticeable difference in how nice the later loops looked compared to my first ones.
