Help w/ Drafting

Two things to try.

1. Keep your hands farther apart when you draft. What type of fiber are you spinning? Different breeds of sheep have different staple lengths. If you're drafting a long stapled wool, your hands might need to be 6"-8" apart to allow the fibers to slip by. If you're drafting a medium length, 4"-5" apart should help.

2. Some rovings draft better from one end than the other. Try drafting from the other end of the roving.

Alternatively, strip your rovings into smaller sections (lengthwise) until you have the diameter you want to spin.
