I have found a couple of knitted doilies I thought were nice. My problem is that part of the patterns are written in latvian.

Wow, it is so beautiful. I notice there is a forum on the website with few threads of english-speakers. I would try my luck there. I know it's pretty impossible to find a free online translator for latvian-english sentences.

 

I notice it is hard to read the symbol chart if I don't know the references to symbol icons on the chart. It could be a great puzzle. There is a stitch library with charts. I think it is doable if you can figure the symbol references then read the symbol chart. I would like to try this pattern too!

Thanks I think I have managed to puzzle together knitting symbols before, so maybe I´ll be able to do it again. But it is very time consuming...

 

So far I would think that

O means yarn over

I means knit

and /I and I\ are decreasing towards left and right.

 

I don´t have any idea of the other symbols...

I would also guess that you should cast on 8 stitches and knit in the round.

Here is a chart for the symbols. They show several different symbols used for each stitch. I hope they have what you need.
