Double crochet hooks

Another stupid question... but what do you do with double sided crochet hooks? I have been having the hardest time finding afghan hooks ...they never have them at the craft stores in my area ....can you use double sided hooks for Tunisian crochet or will it be too clumsy?

You can easily use a double-ended hook for Tunisian; all you have to do is wrap a rubber band or use a cap eraser on the end you're not using. If the hook is small enough, you can use a knitting needle cap.

 

Many patterns that call for a double-ended hook produce a reversible fabric; usually two or more colors of yarn are used in those patterns. Look for patterns for "on the double" or specific to double-ended hooks for the reversible fabrics.
