Any ideas?

I am finished with the St. Louis Cardinals filet and now am wondering how to frame it for my Gr. Aunt. I have some red felt that I think looks good as a background but how would I secure it to that? Anyone have any ideas?

I'd baste the edges and possibly stitch it in small stitches in an x across the work in matching thread or with little slip stitches so the center doesn't hang away from the background.

Did that make sense or help at all.
