I can't figure out my own pattern!!!

So, last night DH and I were talking and I started crocheting like I always do. I created this really nice little bowl that I thought would work perfectly as an offering bowl for my alter if it was done in cotton. Well, I get up this morning and try to recreate the pattern in cotton and...I can't get it to work. I've gone over the other one stitch by stitch and I'm sure I have it written down right but I can't make it work. I started getting all annoyed at it. Has this ever happened to anyone else? What did you do?

I have no idea EXCEPT to frog it a stitch at a time ... a scary chance to take but it might help you locate those "mystery" stitches

 

meanwhile ... I can't begin to count the number of times I've outwitted myself like this in cooking, putting things away in a "safe place", and knitting something intricate

I know-it seems as if it would be easy to remember, right?

 

I did that ONCE and it made me so upset that now I will write down every step as I go. Even on items that I have no intention of doing more than once. Just in case...
