Larger hooks

The only larger hooks that I have are Red Heart Crystalites (LMNP). I'm not crazy about crocheting with the plastic hooks but I love making things with large hooks. Are there any other brands or kinds that I can get and what stores or on-line sites sell them?

They are aluminum hooks that have bamboo as part of the handle. They come in larger sizes. I just picked up the L, M and N sizes at Hobby Lobby. But I just saw them also in the Mary Maxim catalog. They are between $2.99 and $3.50 each.

 

I tried the L last night and I really like it. The handle gives it more to hold on to. So you can crochet longer and not get sore.

You could also try wooden or bamboo ones...They aren't quite as smooth as aluminum, but they're a far cry from plastic. I've had good luck with the Turn of the Century hooks.
