Lonely Mitten Seeking Friend-Need Moms with 4 year olds or thereabouts

Okay, I am making mittens for a four year old. I know sizes vary with kids but I just need a general idea. I am not making mitten number 2 until I know the first is big enough! I asked for her mother to measure but getting her to do things besides get excited about my crochet is tough!

 

Anyway, is a five inch mitten, WITHOUT a cuff, big enough? It measures about five inches without including the cuff.

Just measure my daughter's hand. From wrist to middle finger tip, it's nearly 5 inches. She's four and has slightly long fingers.

Hmmmmm, wondering if I should add one more row on for growing room. Sounds like five is JUST enough.
