Need some translation help from French

Yes, this book is in French but I'm looking for a special gift for someone who crochets and is French.

I got the idea that this is crochet clothing accessories and there are 30 of them using today's colors.

 

But the title eludes me: "1000 Mailles"

What does it mean in this context?

I only know French from the French soundtrack of disney princess movies and french coloring page websites, but I think---nevermind, I just realized I have a French dictionary right here, and it says 'Mailles' means 'stitches'.

Maille means links or stitches. "1000 Stitches" is how you would translate the title of this book.

Well, it sounds perfect. I don't know how many US dollars 7.5 Euros are, but I'm going to order it tonight. Maybe she'll share it with me. The publisher usually puts extensive diagrams that can be followed without words.

It says 7.5 Euros equals $10.643 US Dollars. Not bad! Good find!

 

I took a better look at that site too - the 1000 Mailles also has a magazine you can subscribe to for just over 25 Euros a year. They look like they have some good stuff in the magazine and in the books... I wonder how much shipping will be... Uhoh!

there is a magazine called 1000 maille and they sell them at the dollar store here. thats too funny. they had a great one i picked up today that was 1000 maille crocheting ladies skirt-suits in different patterns, houndstooth and chevron etc etc
