Cone Yarn

I just used a cone of Lily cotton for a tote (see the Eight-pocket Tote CAL) and it worked great for that! I haven't tried the cones for anything else, though.

Like anything else you would crochet with, it depends on the size/weight of the fiber. If the fiber on the cone is a size you would normally crochet with: fingering, baby, sport, worsted, bulky, etc, then you can crochet with it. I use cones of peaches and creme all the time. It's really more convienent because each cone is a pound of yarn( about 840 yards) so there is less join of additional skeins to whatever project I'm crocheting.
