Afghan stitch, my new favorite

Recommended Posts

:cheer I was so excited I had to share! I've always like the afghan stitch and graph patterns. I'm making so many for Christmas. I'm on my 3rd throw and I'm doing the tunisian knit stitch. I found it on a tutorial along with the tunisian purl stitch and other tunisian stitches. It looks like knit!!! I love this. They also have the cable and other common "knit" stitches. :think I wonder if I can use this technique or a knit pattern. I may have to try that and see. Thought I'd share. All I did was google the tunisian stitch tutorial. ;)

I love the look of the afghan stitch and even own a hook with a long plastic cable. But for wide afghans, my wrists really feel it. The lack of a finger rest makes the effort just harder on my wrists.

I love it too. I learned how from my BF's mom when I was a junior in HS. It's been many years but I still love that stitch. I am planning to do a baby afghan in it next, after my two current ones are finished.
