convert knitting to tunisian ?

I have found a knitting pattern for a cardigan that I really like the trouble is I can crochet but I can't knit.

 

Does anyone know if I can follow a knitting pattern in tunisian crochet ?

Not without completely redesigning the sweater.

 

Knitting and crochet stitches are different sizes. Knitted fabric is the thickness of the yarn, crocheted is 3x the thickness of the yarn. If you wanted a crocheted garment with the same 'drape' as a knitted pattern designed with WW yarn, you would need to use fingering weight.

 

There are books and guides on the internet for converting, but the end result bears little resemblance to knitted fabric. Here's an example: "Change six rows of stockinette to one row of treble crochet" -- well, they don't look a bit alike, do they?!?

 

If the knitted pattern gives a sketch of each pattern piece with detailed dimensions, you should be able to make pieces using Tunisian stitches to match the dimensions, but you would have to work out your own guage and stitch count.
