I am stuck

I must be stupid because there is one part of every pattern that I just do not understand

 

Ok the rnd before I need help says Ch1, 2sc in firts st, sc in each st and chain around, join in beg sc, Fasten off (ok I got it...)

 

here is where I get confussed... we started at the bottom if the chain of hearts for rnd 1 and two...

 

rnd 3....

Join candy print with sc in top st on strip, ch 3 dc in side of last sc made, sk next 2 sts [sc in next st, ch 3, dc in side of last sc made, sk next 2 sts] around, join in beg sc, fasten off.

 

In what last sc made? there are sc around the entire thing?

I think they mean just that - the last sc you made in that same row - the one right before you do the ch 3.

they want to say that you are making dc's into the side of the sc that you just made.

u make an sc, then chains, then make the dc's not in the row below but into the side of the sc from the same row.

makes sense?

That's how I read it; the sc before the ch3 in the same row. You aren't stupid at all.
