Changing colors with an afghan hook??

Swerbie

Question

Okay..... I have finally mastered the simple afghean (tunisian) stich...and I really love it! :clap The only problem I have is changing colors mid-row.....like you would have to do for making a graph. I'm trying to do a scull and crossbones pillow for a friends son. I've got my graph...I can do the solid areas just fine. :think

I've searched the net and found sites that teach how to change colors for a row....but not for a single or few stiches within a row. Can anyone point me to a tutorial for this???

THANKS!!

You can go to this page at my site for some helps & hints about changing colors and how to avoid holes when changing colors.

You will probably want to use some type of bobbins to make it a little easier for changing the colors.

Otherwise here are some tutorial links for changing colors in afghan stitch:

http://www.anniesattic.com/crochet/content.html?content_id=72

http://www.stitchdiva.com/custom.aspx?id=45

http://www.knitting-and.com/crochet/tunisian-intarsia.htm

The link that corky264 was trying to post for you was to Cindy's Crochet Pages but, unfortunately, the link she posted doesn't work because it's against Crochetville's guidelines (see #6 about No copyright violations & the Wayback Machine).

Cindy's site is apparently unavailable right now for whatever reason because when I tried a couple of my bookmarked links to some of her pages at her site, I got these error messages from Comcast:

"PAGE UNAVAILABLE

This URL you typed is unavailable at this time." :(

HTH! :hook
