Question
crochetstepmom
My neighbor asked me to make an afghan for her after seeing another one that I had made. She is so excited that I am almost finished. She asks me the progress on it nearly every day.
Anyway, I want it to be really special for her. Her daughter told me that the reason she is so excited is because no one has ever made anything for her. No one in her family crochets, knits, or sews, so she's never had a handmade item.
I should be finished with the afghan soon (tonight, hopefully.) It is just a simple patchwork afghan made with Red Heart acrylic yarns.
Should I wash it before I give it to her?
I made some of the squares single crochet, so I blocked them before I sewed them together. I want it to lay properly, and I want it to be soft, but I don't want it to fray.
