Lovers knot stitch

I need help with this. I have seen different illustrations but, this one says insert hook in specified stitch and draw up loop. But if I do that there will be two loops on hook, and it's pretty hard to draw up a loop. It's the slinky tunic pattern in 100 Crochet projects. Page 51. Can anyone please help?

Here's a video, I think this is the same stitch (love knot). Not one of my favorite stitches, it's tricky to keep the long loops even. I think this is also called Solomon's knot.
