Crocheting with wire

karcher70

Question

This weekend I made a crocheted beaded wire necklace for the first time. I used 24 gauge wire (its all they had at Wal Mart!) and it turned out cute, but its pretty stiff. Any advice on how to make more flexible chain-like jewelry?

Ahh, so the higher the number, the finer the wire!

I have a booklet at home that I got at AC Moore...I don't remember who wrote it though. It didn't go into in-depth detail though on rules and gauge and things like that.

Thanks for the info and I'll definitely see if my library has that book! :D

I went to JoAnns today and bought both 26 and 28 guage wire. Hopefully these work a little better! I also got some beads, thread, more beads, findings, and more beads!!! :D

As soon as I can I'll post some pics of my creations in show and tell!
