adding silk edge to crochet

I was wondering if it would work to add a silk edge (binding) to the edge of a crocheted blanket. I made one for my 7 month old and was wanting to add that silky type edge to it, but I don't want to try it if it isn't going to work (wasting the binding and money).

 

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

yes you can add the binding. Just situate like you want it and either use the sewing machine or hand stitch it. Most of that stuff is made so that you kinda slip the blanket into the middle it is already folded for you and everything.

thank you. I have the binding bought but wasn't sure if I was going to use it on the crocheted blanket or make him a flannel one and add the binding to that. I am going to try it and see what happens.
