City Knits, Detroit, MI

I was near Detroit for a four day conference this past week, staying with my hubbys aunt and grandpa. Well, she knows that I crochet and really wanted to take me to a LYS so we looked some up and decided to try a yarn shop downtown in Detroit (detroit proper). The store in called City Knits and we visited the location in the Fisher Building downtown on Grand Ave...it was great! They have a great selection and are super croche friendly! We also visited another shop in Royal Oak...and lets just say that they...werent...so crochet...friendly...great cotton selection there, but definately got the vibe that their yarn was "better" than crochet...City Knits, however, had one of the biggest selection of crochet books at any LYS I have ever seen!! If you are ever in the area, I highly recommend it (in fact, I went back on Thurs after auntie and grandpa had left for the family reunion...just so I had more time! )

Maybe us Metro Detroit area folks could do a field trip one day.....I live about 15 min from downtown detroit. I will definitely have to check this out.
