what is sps ?

im working on a pattern that has "sps" in it .. no idea what that is!

 

it reads:

rd1 ch4 join w/slp st

rd2, *ch5 1dc in ring, ch2 rep from* 6 times more,

join w/slp st to 3rd st of ch. 8 ch 2 sps.

know what that is?

maybe spaces? but then i still dont know what its calling for lol

It means spaces. What that last part is telling you is how many st and spaces you should have at the end of those directions; for this you should have 8 chain 2 spaces.
