I just got my new stitch designs book.

The Complete Book of Crochet Stitch Designs; 500 Classic & Original Designs

I paid $22 something last week, now it's down to $19 something. It's not brand new but this is an updated publishing (says July 2007). I saw this on Knit Picks for $30+. So far I love it, what a resource this will be!! Very excited about this one. It gives text and diagram directions for every stitch so great for international (outside the US) usage. So far I give it an 8 and that's just from skimming thru it. The directions look really clear and it also gives pattern repeat info (i.e. ch6 +2) for starting chains. I'm just in awe of so many different stitches.

I also got this book recently. Its a reprint of an 1987 publication of the same author and title. It has updated photos and information.

 

Its not a reprint of the Harmony Guides. It does, however, contain a lot of similar information.

 

The pictures are great and I think this will be an excellent reference book for anyone who enjoys designing their own patterns and for people who enjoy learning/using new stitches.

I want it! I've rechecked the Harmony Guides from the Library 3 times and I told dh I absolutely can't do without something like this!

newthingcrochet, although the harmony guides seem to have spent some time now out of print, for whatever reason, both amazon and barnes&noble have them available right now for like $15-16. -j
