granny square tote? Need guidance please!

Recommended Posts

I went and dug out my little tub full of granny squares with this silly idea that I'd stitch them all together and make a tote bag out of them! Has anyone done this before, and if so could you please tell me what you did, and hey, pics would be great! I have that little camo single crocheted piece that would be a great bottom I think...

I don't intend to line it, simply because a needle/thread and I just don't mix!!!

Here is what I'm working with... oh and if anyone has any use for those two balls of orange fabric just pm me and they're yours, I'll even ship them for free! (In the US only).

There was a CAL here for the Granny Square Tote from the free pattern at freepatterns dot com. I couldn't find it. >>> change that... I found it with the right name :blush

The link for the pattern is old

If you can search freepatterns for it, you will have a way/pattern for putting theme together - it was a good technique that provided strength.

You already have the squares so you don't need that part.

That link should take you to the right page and the tote pattern is at the bottom row - right hand side.

thank you! That's just what I was looking for! I looked through the link you gave me, and I love the pics of what others did! It's really cute, wish me luck!

when I posted that information, I could not see your pics. When I got to see the pics I did think that your squares (if not your lovely camo piece) would look totally neat done in the pattern at FPs
