Need help reading pattern...

Sweet_Apples

Question

Hey, as some of you may know, i've decided to crochet a thread angel for my sunday school teacher. Well. I've realized crocheting with thread is a lot harder than yarn, so I decided to practice using thread b y making a doily first.

Doily

On Round 4, it says to ch3, dc, ch2, 2dc in same ch lp.

But I'm lost. Where do I do the bolded dc?

Thanks for your help =]

PS. Anyone want to donate a styrofoam cone to me?

if you are talking about the first dc after you chain 3, then i believe you are supposed to dc in the very first stitch next to your ch 3.

maybe someone who has made some of these doilies can help you better.

On round 4 you will start the first round of shells.

In the last round, the ch 6, dtr counts as the last ch 12 so that you will start round 4 in the middle of a loop instead of the start.

Around that ch 6 dtr loop, ch3 (this will count as 1 dc) then ch 2, then 2 dc. This is your beginning shell.

Notice that the other shells you will make in the other ch 12 spaces from round 3 are 2 dc. ch 2 2 dc.

Hope this helps.

The trick to crocheting with thread is adjusting your tension. Thread dosen't give like most yarns.
