I like your bag and the color is so pretty!

 

I looked for the Iris stitch via Google but could not find it. Is this a stitch from a book that you have? I would really like to have it.

Basically it's 2dc, ch2, 2dc in the ch2 space below

 

your chain is a mult of 4 +2(for 1st dc).

 

Make your chain, dc, ch2, 2dc in the 4th ch from hook. Then skip 3 ch's and do your shell (2dc, ch2, 2dc) in the 4th chain * repeat across. The following rows are done in the ch2 sp's.

 

If you find the ch2 is too open of a look you can always use a ch1 instead. The pattern's also great for working in the round.
