another felting question

I have not got my previous question answered yet, but here I come with another one.

Is it normal to have the stitches somewhat separated after felting?

The bag I made came out beautiful, (sorry, no camera to prove it), however, after stretching it over a cantalope, I noticed a little separation between the stitches. Should I have left it longer, should I have used a smaller medium to stretch it with? Should I do it over one more time? What do you think,

IMO ~ If you don't like the stitches showing, felt it again. But it will shrink again and then just use a smaller stuffing device. The purse/tote that I felted, I put it throught the hot/cold cycle 4 times till it came out the way I wanted, you can't even tell what stitch was used, it came out very smooth just liked the knitted bags.

Thanks Michelle.

I'll get my daughter to look at it tonight, and might have another go at it.

I really don't mind the way it looks, but since it is for her, it will be her call.

I am glad I tried it, I fully expected it to be a lot more complicated.
