Well, it would depend on the weight of the wool and where you live. Where you live only because if you lived in a place where summer is insanely hot and possibly humid, I'd be thinking about other options...

 

There are lightweight wools out there that would be breathable and yet keep you warm if it got cool...

 

There are also blends out there that would work too...there's also heavy cotton (like kitchen cotton) that could also work, and give you the weight you're looking for.

was thinking wool of the Andes - I will be wearing it on vacation in Canada- it often is cool in the evenings-

What blends were you thinking about? I do live in southern Indiana and it can get pretty hot.

i have no idea where you are going but i assure you here it is NOT AT ALL COLD IN THE EVENING. it is hot hot hot!! and humid you do NOT want to be wearing wool
