Gauge sample

Question

Hi guys,

I'm making a shawl that is made with v stitches. In order to make a gauge swatch it says:

8 v stitches measure 4 " across and 10 rows=3" high.

How many foundation chains do I make to make 8 v stitches?

Thank you! :hook

:cheer Dont make just 8 Vs, make more and measure the centre 8.

To do this, any time you dont know how many chain you need, just make a long chain and work the pattern along as many stitches as you need, maybe 12 Vs, then ignore the extra chain, turn and carry on ith the next row.

Do more rows than you need too.

When you are done, measure the centre 8 V stitches.

You get a much more accurate answer this way.

Have fun.
