Help me pick a substitute for BlueSky Alpaca

Could you ladies please help me with picking a substitute yarn? There is a project I want to complete that uses Blue Sky Alpaca worsted weight yarn. In the magazine that has the pattern it says that this is a chunky type yarn. I am thinking it should be similar to LionBrand Wool-ease chunky but I am not so sure. The magazine has pictures of all the yarns and they do seem similar but now that I look at the LionBrand site I am not so sure.

The info for the Blue Sky Alpaca worsted weight is:

A superior blend of alpaca and wool. 50% alpaca and 50% merino.

4 sts = 1†#9 US

100 grams/100 yards

5 sts = 1†#8 US

Can anyone help me with picking a substitute?

Thanks so much.

If I remeber the alpaca correctly, Wool-Ease Chunky would be too chunky...

I don't know off hand what yarn would be a great replacement, but it seems to me if you find one that has the saem gauge (4 sts = 1†#9 US, 5 sts = 1†#8 US) then substition shouldn't be a problem. Hope that helps!

I was thinking that a regular worsted weight would work but the worsted weight is not listed as a chunky yarn. If only the darn Alpaca was sold at the yarn store or at least anywhere in my state I would probably splurge and get it.
