Hi I am new to felting. Today i bought pencil roving to make a rug. My question is, do you dye it first or crochet first than dye? Also what to use to dye? Thanks for any help you can give me.:think

whatever suits your fancy here, if you want to dye it all first then crochet it, or if you want to crochet it then dye it, its all up to you.

as long as its 100 % wool you can use any fiber acid dye... even KoolAid.

my fav thing to dye ( well stain actually) with are coffee and tea but I much prefer more neutral colors
