Sock Pattern for Men

Is there a good pattern out there for mens socks? I'd actually like them to be functional if you can crochet a sock that you can wear in your shoes. Things I find seem to be very thick and moe like slipper socks. Thanks!!!

Well, there is a <a href="http://yarntomato.com/feetneedsocks/" target="_new">sock crochet along</a> going on, and Donna, the moderator, has a list of the free patterns on the web.

 

I would recommend doing the South Bay Crochet "Toe Up Socks" because you can customize them to fit the man's feet, but for the heel portion, I suggest using <a href="http://cs.unc.edu/~mantler/misc/fun_stuff/art/crochet/heelinstr.html" target="_new">these heel instructions</a>.

Thank you much. I'm not sure how I missed it but I just now saw that whole sections on socks there in the Special Crochet Topics section. Bet that'll help as well as the Sock CrochetAlong threads.
