Shell in the Round/Square

truelove730

Question

I have recently finished a square doily that I am making into a pillow and wanted to the back of the pillow in shells. I have the basics, (dc,dc,ch2, dc,dc) in same space and (4dc,ch2,4dc) in corner. My only concern is what to do when I need to increase since it is in rounds and grows larger with each row. Also i am not sure how to start out with shells. Any tips and pointers would be greatly appreciated.

mmouseplus.gifI agree with 3olive. Just start it out and replace the 3dcs of a granny square with your shell motif and it'll grow and grow and grow! :D

Well it did not work like a granny square because it is done with a shell in shell, not allowing for increases. So I added a dc in every other row before and after each corner. I posted a pattern in Original Patterns.

Click on the image to be taken to the pattern.
