Lapghans or lap robes

Does anyone have a pattern or can give me a link to making lapghans or lap robes. I need a very simple pattern.

Have you ever thought of just doing some granny squares and connecting them?

 

Or just take a simple dc or V stitch and go as wide and long as you want to.

 

Just a couple of easy ones...

Thanks Nancy. Yes ~ I thought about doing something using a double crochet, half double crochet or triple crochet. Might as well start out with something I know how to do! !
