Adult felted cap to a child's size?

If I make an adult felted hat and wash it several times, will it shrink to a child's size?

 

The pattern is on order, but here it is: Crocheted Felt Hats

 

I am really wanting to make felted brim hats for my children and I can't find a pattern in their size.

I've made lots of hats from that pattern, they have all been adult size. I'm not sure how much they would felt down. Why don't you go down a hook size or two. That should do the trick!
