Lining Fat Bottom Bag: Suggestions?

Last night I finished the Fat Bottom Bag from the HH book. It is darling!

 

I still need to get the round handles...I had hoped to use the straight one I have on hand, but see that it really does need to be circular.

 

But my question is: who has made this bag and lined it? What fabric did you use? How did you go about getting the right shape to the lining since the bag is so gathered at the top? I'm not the best at doing linings and I really want it to turn out well as the bag itself is so cute. I hope to give it to my sister for her birthday on July 1.

You could use some plastic canvas and curve it to shape on the bottom of the bagYou can tack it in place too and line the whole purse with a coordinating fabric or even with felt. Hope this helps
