pattern question

Question

I'm working on the magic stripes midi skirt from the 2005 BHG Simply Creative Crochet magazine and I'm not sure about the increasing. Here are the instructions:

Inc Row: Ch2 counts as hdc; 2 hdc in next hdc, hdc in ea hdc across, end with 2 hdc in next hdc, hdc in last hdc

Work 4 rows even

Rep inc row now, then every 4th row 5 times

I understand the first part, it's the part in italics I'm not sure about. Does this mean I work even for 3 rows, then increase on the 4th or do I work even for 4 rows then increase on the 5th?

Any help will be greatly appreciated. :hook

I'm no expert here but I'll give this a try. In reading those instructions I would say do the increase row, do three rows regular, and then in the next row, the fourth row, you do the increase again... so you'd end up with three regular rows and an increase in each fourth row...

I see Paulette answered your question, but I thought the numbers might help also. Someone else asked the same question in November so I had the info handy:

After your last row of 84, increase to 86

3 more rows of 86 (no increases)

Increase to 88

3 more rows of 88

Increase to 90

3 more rows of 90

Increase to 92

3 more rows of 92

Increase to 94

3 more rows of 94

Increase to 96

4 more rows of 96

Increase to 98

4 more rows of 98

Increase to 100

4 more rows of 100

Increase to 102

4 more rows of 102

Increase to 104

4 more rows of 104

Increase to 106

4 more rows of 106

Increase to 108

5 more rows of 108

Increase to 110

5 more rows of 110

Increase to 112

5 more rows of 112

Increase to 114
