Filet inc and dec

Question

How do you increase and decrease open and clonse stiches in fliet crochet at the end of a row?? I've been learing to crochet with Stich n' Bich HH and I've undrestood just about everything but this part is really confusing...please help!

It is a little hard to describe without knowing exactly what you are making and how the stitches relate to each other in the pattern.

 

If the row starts with CH4 to stand as 1DC CH1, just do CH3, skip the first SP and work a DC ito the next DC and when you get back to it on the next row, just work into the top of the CH. If the decrease is at the end of a row, just leave out the last CH1 and work the last DC into the top of the turnung CH from the row before.

 

Maybe you could give a bit more info on what you are actually doing.
