Dyeing Mason Line??

Hi-

 

I know that nylon yarns will dye with Kool Aid,, but I'm wondering if anyone has dyed white mason line with Kool Aid. I've read that treated nylon won't take dye, and I don't know whether or not the mason line is treated. If anyone has had experience with doing this, would you please share?

I can't guarantee that the nylon mason line you buy at a hardware store isn't treated, but I don't see any difference between mason line and the JP Coats crochet nylon that I bought recently. If you can use plain white mason line (in case dyeing doesn't work), just go ahead and buy some and then experiment with Kool Aid or cake iceing dye.
